Toastmasters Education System

Members of Toastmasters International have the opportunity to follow two different tracks: the Communication track and the Leadership track. Both can be worked on simultaneously.
Communication Track
There are four designations which can be achieved in succession via the Communication track. These are
- Competent Communicator (CC)
- Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB)
- Advanced Communicator Silver (ACS)
- Advanced Communicator Gold (ACG)
New members are provided with a Competent Communicator manual as part of their new member packages. The CC manual is comprised of ten different projects, each focusing on an aspect of public speaking such as organization, gestures, and vocal variety. Members can work through this manual at their own pace, delivering a prepared speech for each project.
Upon completion of the Competent Communicator manual, members may choose to work on advanced manuals. Each advanced manual consists of five projects, and two manuals must be completed for each of the Advanced Communicator Bronze, Silver, and Gold designations.
Leadership Track
There are four designations which can be achieved in succession via the Leadership track. These are
- Competent Leader
- Advanced Leader Bronze
- Advanced Leader Silver
Members are provided with a Competent Leader manual as part of their new member packages. Like the CC manual, the CL manual consists of ten different projects that focus on leadership roles within the club. Majority of the CL manual can be completed simply by filling regular roles within meetings; for example, evaluator, toastmaster, timer.
There are no manuals for Advanced Leader Bronze and Silver; instead, Toastmasters must serve on the club executive, sponsor or coach a new club, and deliver presentations on club building or leadership.
