How to become a member

  1. Attend a club meeting as a guest! We love having people visit our club, and you won't be required to speak if you prefer not to. You are welcome to just show up, but you can also  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  to let us know you're coming.
  2. Download and fill out a Membership Application
  3. Submit the form and your fees to our Vice President of Membership and Treasurer respectively (or any member of the executive).

After you join

You will receive a new member kit, including some information to help you get started. We will lend you Competent Communicator and Competent Leader manuals so that you can begin working on your projects immediately; however, we ask that you return the manuals once you receive your own copies from Toastmasters International.

You will be asked if you would like to be assigned a mentor to guide you through your first few meetings and provide assistance with your early speeches. 

You will be assigned meeting roles by the Vice President of Education. Usually you will be eased into the program with smaller roles such as Timer and Ah Counter and take on roles such as Toastmaster and General Evaluator when you've been a member for awhile. Feel free to communicate with the Vice President of Education and let him or her know what you feel comfortable with.

You will start receiving the monthly Toastmasters magazine.

You will be elegable to vote during business meetings, compete in contests, and run for executive positions.

Fees

The membership fee for Tireless Talkers is $110 CAD per year. There is also a one time new member fee of $36. The annual membership year runs from October to September but if you join between those periods, your fees will be prorated to the next renewal period based on the month you join.

Included in the fees are

  • Membership to Toastmasters International
  • New member kit containing a copy of the Competent Communicator and Competent Leadership manuals, general orienatation materials, and some guides to speech and evaluation techniques.
  • Opportunity to participate in Tireless Talkers meetings each week
  • Monthly Toastmaster magazine
  • Access to club resources such as our video camera and instructional DVDs
